Resources for North Shore Residents who are Experiencing Challenges with Mental Health and Substance Use.

Family doctors are the first step in navigating the mental health system. Your doctor can diagnose mental illnesses, prescribe medication and refer you to specialized services.

Talking to your family practitioner about anxiety, mental illness or substance use is an important start. Once you receive a diagnosis, your doctor will build a treatment plan that works for you. The North Shore Primary Care Network (PCN) has expanded resources so that should your family doctor believe it to be appropriate, they can easily refer you to a PCN Mental Health Clinician, free of charge and with little or no wait time.
