Find Care

Need to see a family doctor?

If you do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner and you live in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, or Bowen Island, please register for our Patient Attachment Waitlist online.

Register on the Health Connect Registry | HealthLink BC and our office will contact you by email when we have a family doctor available that fits your needs.

If you have any questions, you can reach us at patientservices@nsdivision.ca

Please note that we have transitioned to the new Provincial Attachment System. Patients across B.C. interested in being attached to a family physician or nurse practitioner can register on the Health Connect Registry Online form by visiting Health Connect Registry | HealthLink BC.

If you have already signed up on GPLink, you do not need to sign up again. Your information is already on the Health Connect Registry.

Go to the Right Place for the Right Care

Primary Care Provider
Your Primary Care Provider (family physician or nurse practitioner) is your first point of care when you have a health concern or question. They provide referrals and prescription renewals. Same-day appointments are often available.

  • Pathways Medical Directory
The Pathways Medical Directory is a provincially-run searchable database where:
    • If you have a primary care provider, you can find information and resources for your clinic
    • You can find available maternity care
    • You will find links to register for a Primary Care Provider on Health Connect
  • Medimap
Find walk-in medical clinics near you that are open. Book in on the same day or see their hours of operation.

North Vancouver Urgent & Primary Care Centre (UPCC)
When you can’t see your family doctor, go to the North Vancouver UPCC. It is the place you can go to get same-day care for urgent and non-life-threatening health concerns within 12 to 24 hours. A UPCC is not an emergency department.  The UPCC is there for non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries, such as:

  • Sprains and strains
  • Cuts, wounds, or skin conditions
  • X-rays
  • High fever
  • Infections (including, chest, ear and urinary tract)
  • Asthma attacks
  • New or worsening pain
  • Less serious child illness and injuries
  • Social work services

Where to go for After-Hours Medical Care

After-hours care can provide you with the same level of care as your general practitioner. The only difference is that there are later hours as well as hours on the weekend so that you always have someone to go see. Going to the hospital emergency room should be limited to true emergencies.
